Scope of work

When lockdown was imposed in Ireland in March 2020 all non-essential workplaces were requested to close their doors. Stryve, a Cyber Security and Cloud Solution business, in Co. Carlow was one such business.

The office is approximately 2,000 square meters over 2 floors, including open plan offices, meeting rooms, boardroom, kitchen and social area. The remit for G2 was to produce a new layout of the offices based on a 2m social distancing rule.

Process

After consultation with the client, a G2 surveyor attended the office to carry out a full 3D survey of the internal of the office building. The cloudpoint data was then processed to produced a layout of the existing office space.

The existing layout plan was then reconfigured based on employees having to keep physical distancing to 2.0m. Drawings were produced to show the reconfigured workplace including new desk layouts, floor markings, one-way systems, way-finding signage, sanitising station locations etc.

The existing & new layouts were then used to carry out an employee capacity assessment.

Outcome

In the Stryve office,  capacity on the ground floor was originally suitable for 14 employees. On implementation of 2m social distancing, the capacity was reduced to 9 employees. On the first floor capacity went from 16 to 11 employees.

Stryve are now in a position where they can safely allow the appropriate number of employees back to the workplace and be confident that their employees can operate to their full potential, in a safe environment. Employees could be reassured that the social distance planning was carried out by professional engineers, fully qualified as Covid-19 officers.
